U.S. OLYMPIC AND PARALYMPIC PROPERTIES NAME JOHN SLUSHER CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Former Nike executive to lead LA28 and USOPC commercial joint venture
LOS ANGELES (October 30, 2024) – Today, U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Properties (USOPP) announce John Slusher as Chief Executive Officer, leading the commercial joint venture between the LA28 Organizing Committee for the 2028 Games and the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee.
On the heels of a successful 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Slusher will build upon USOPP’s commercial progress and execute on the most innovative and ambitious Olympic and Paralympic commercial program, featuring both LA28 and Team USA rights for partners and licensees.

He’s an excellent addition to the best-in-class team we've assembled to execute an Olympic and Paralympic Games unlike the world has ever seen,” said LA28 President and Chairperson Casey Wasserman. “The work that John will spearhead for USOPP is key to the delivery of the Games, the long-term support of Team USA and the strength of the Movement in the United States.”

In his role, Slusher will oversee all LA28/USOPP revenue including domestic sponsorship, consumer products, hospitality and ticket sales under LA28 Chairperson and President Casey Wasserman and LA28 CEO Reynold Hoover.

Slusher returns to LA after a 26-year tenure at Nike, where he led global sports marketing and oversaw relationships with Nike’s world-class athletes and properties. Prior to Nike, Slusher began his career in corporate law at O’Melveny and Myers’ Los Angeles practice after receiving his J.D. from the University of Southern California. Slusher will join the USOPP in Los Angeles on Dec. 2.

The LA28 Games will mark Los Angeles’ third time to host the Olympic Games, previously hosted in 1984 and 1932, and first time to host the Paralympic Games. Los Angeles will host the world’s most elite athletes in 2028 as it welcomes Paralympians and Olympians from around the world to compete on the biggest stage in sports. The LA28 Games are independently operated by a privately funded, non-profit organization with revenue from corporate partners, licensing agreements, hospitality and ticketing programs and a significant contribution from the International Olympic Committee.
