Para Swimming

In Para Swimming, competitions take place in a 50m pool. Athletes demonstrate their proficiency in four primary strokes: breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly, and freestyle as well as mixed medley relays. Athletes compete in heats based on their disability classification, with swimmers either diving into the pool or starting directly in the water.
An underwater shot captures a female Paralympic swimmer from Team USA during a freestyle event. She is wearing a blue swimsuit, swim cap, and goggles. Her left arm is extended upward as she glides through the water, creating ripples and bubbles around her. The swimmer's legs are amputated below the knee, and her right arm is also amputated. Yellow lane dividers are visible on both sides, framing her path in the pool.
